North Dakota State getting Wisconsin transfer

07/02/2010 - Fargo, ND (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Former Wisconsin defensive end Tyler Westphal announced he will transfer to North Dakota State, where he will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Westphal told the Forum of Fargo that he will join North Dakota State this season. He is eligible immediately per NCAA rules that allow a player moving from an FBS school to an FCS program to not have to sit out a year.

As a high school senior in Menasha, Wisc., Westphal was ranked as the No. 1 player in the state by both Rivals.com and Scout.com.

He was a redshirt at Wisconsin in 2008 and did not play in 2009 due to injured shoulders.
